Whew!  It's been a while.  I've been busy working on my website and such.  I do have some I can cross off though - yay!

#90 Buy the Joy of Cooking

Ok, technically this one was completed for me.  I received a copy of this for Christmas.  Splendid!

#57 Dance in the rain

This one was spontaneous.  I woke up suddenly one morning because I heard the rain and thought I had left my car windows down.  I raced outside.  Fortunately I hadn't left it down.  While I was out there, I just enjoyed the moment and danced in the rain. :)

Worked on #43 Try 10 New Fruits

I have tried so many new ones lately!
Forelle pears (didnt like)
Rambutans (yum!)
Jazz Apple (yum)
Pummelo (yum)
Ambrosia apple (ok)
Persimmon (yum)
Satsuma (yum)

Finished: 93. Get rid of 100 things I no longer need/use/want (100/100)

Whew! Packing is NO fun. I am moving out of this place (had to anyways next month), going to CA for a month, then finding some other place here in Utah.

I am a packrat. I just have so many dreams for the future...and the stuff to go along with it. However, I have to start living a little more in the "now" and just get things when I really need them, no matter what grand plans I have or how good a deal it is.

Well, I have a whole huge pile of stuff to give away. I haven't gone through and counted, but I am sure I have this much to give away, and I am still going through it all. The simpler my life is, the better it will all be. Here's to decluttering!

I have been having fun with the list already!

I finished : 64. Convince, at least, 3 other people to make a 101 in 1,001 list. 3 people have now mentioned that they want to make lists too, so yippee!

Last night I started
1. Read all the Scriptures again and 6. Read scriptures and pray daily. It will be exciting to read through them all again and really try to expand my testimony and understanding.

10. Lose 113 pounds - yes, I'm on my way! My goal for the week is to exercise 3x for 30 min each. I need to break out the DDR again...once that crick gets out of my back (grrrrr)

18. Start a teaching garden - Andy and I drove up to look at the potential plot today. 6 acres of fun. It looks nice, and shouldn't need too much prep work.

71. Go to bed by 12:30 nightly for a month (1/30) and then continue on - this one is very hard for me. I am a natural night owl and 12:30 seems so...early. But it can be done!

94. Grow my hair long again and then cut it all off for charity - this shouldn't take TOO long. My hair grows pretty fast, and it's already past my shoulders

97. Send 10 cards in the mail "just because" (1/10) - Jeremy and Kristin are so cool. I went to their place for dinner (yum) and FHE. They wanted to do one of my goals as the activity. We wrote a letter to Kristin's parents (I know them too). Fun stuff.

I'm on my way!

Oh, and just a note - yep, I do realize that there are at least a couple of goals that are not entirely within my control. But there are things I can do on my part to work towards making it possible, capiche? :) A gal's gotta dream of course!

101 Things in 1001 Days
Monday, November 17, 2008 | Author: Unknown
I have been thinking very deeply about my life lately. (Getting laid off and that other thing can do it to you!) I came across this website - Creating a list of 101 things to do in 1001 days. Here are the guidelines; I will post my list next.

The Mission:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).

Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as New Year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

Some common goal setting tips:
1. Be decisive. Know exactly what you want, why you want it, and how you plan to achieve it.

2. Stay Focused. Any goal requires sustained focus from beginning to end. Constantly evaluate your progress.

3. Welcome Failure. Frequently, very little is learned from a venture that did not experience failure in some form. Failure presents the opportunity to learn and makes the success more worthy.

4. Write down your goals. It clarifies your thinking and reinforces your commitment.

5. Keep your goals in sight. Review them frequently, and ensure that they are always at the forefront of your thinking.
